Might be better in the Chit Chat section this but if it was me, I'd try to kitchen option first.... he may go beserk initially but will soon tire if you don't cave in and he begins to accept these are the rules; new ones granted. Make sure he has all he needs in there though. We've never let our cats sleep in the bedrooms (causes more cleaning work for one), they've always been shut in the kitchen at night which some people may find just as unhygienic but we've been pretty strict with them from the start so they know what's acceptable and know they'll get a swift scutch if they jump onto the work surface... just need to train the husband now!! Always wipe them down just in case anyway. Least it's far easier than cleaning every room... especially if they are sick in the night; far easier on a tile floor than carpet. Our kitchen gives them access to a small walkway and conservatory aswell and they have everything they need in there; food, water, cosy bed and tray.... they often take themselves off to bed.

Anyway, that's how it works for us.

Apologies, take the Chit Chat back, can see why you've posted in this section now.... doh, it's late!
