Were you transracially placed for adoption in the UK between 1960- 69?

October Films has been commissioned by Channel 4 to make a documentary about children who were adopted via the British Adoption Project between 1960- 69.

October Films is an award winning production company that specialises in documentaries that are sensitive to their subject matter.

For more information see - http://www.octoberfilms.co.uk/

October Films would like to make a film about the experiences of the people who had been adopted via the British Adoption Project. This project was set up in the mid 1960s specifically to place black, Asian and mixed race children for adoption in white families and these children were part of a research study that followed up the outcomes of their experience until the 1970s.

There are files from the project still held and there is a possibility they could be opened at the request of the people whose information they contain.

There is currently a lot of political and media interest in the placement of black, asian and mixed race children and October Films want to present these issues in their film through the personal experience of those involved.

If you were transracially adopted during this period and would like to find out more about the proposed documentary please contact:
